This is interesting to hear Julia's telling of her Stephanie character in "Newhart," along with her experiences with working with Bob Newhart; and the other background aspects of the show.

Ummmm......it was a funny sitcom. Nothing more and nothing less. That's the bottom line.

Julia's looks and especially her voice - combined with talent and the timing she talks about - made Stephanie absolutely hysterical to me :-)

The point in the interview when he mentioned the "Fickle Finger of Fate" and how a great number of things such as government waste and corruption in the defense industry have basically never changed, it's just that television hasn't really continued to spotlight it really resonated. Also, the process by which people like Arte Johnson and other Laugh-In regulars were recruited also sounds like something that could be expanded into its own special or podcast.

Her show was the best. Saturdays were the best TV. Love you, Carol. Be healthy.

One of the things she said that really stood out to me is when she's talking about the fact that they wanted the show to be timeless 20 years from now and she says you can tell got the show is kind of dated based on the 80s fashion and hairstyles that that isn't happening that made me realize that no matter how far into the 21st century we get in my mind I always think that the 80s were just 20 years ago

I never really got the humor of Bob Newhart. Didn't find him nor his show funny unlike the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Hello from Germany, Julia Duffy is not so well known here, German TV once aired "Menu for Murder" where she starred in. It's so nice to hear her own voice. I don't know why, but somehow she reminds me of Vera Miles.

Bob Newhart's LP "The Button Down Mind" was a favourite of my late Dad's. One of my early memories - I would have been no more than 4 or 5 years old - is of sitting with him whilst he listened to it and laughing because Dad was laughing. I have been a lifelong fan of Bob Newhart's, not just because he is a funny man with a unique personal style and take, but because through him I am still just a son with his Dad.

Angie Dickinson is a lady. She loves everyone. She is not a threat to women bc she wouldn't steal her men. She's not that type. Every movie she's done was so so realistic. Stan Freberg version of "Heartbreak hotel" has been a favorite since my early youth.

Please tell me that you will eventually do a profile on "St Elsewhere" as a show, just as you did with "Dallas", and bring back Ed with William Daniels and perhaps Bonnie Bartlett, who played Dr. Mark Craig and Mrs. Craig. Their chemistry on the show was legendary, and often unintentionally hilarious

I find her voice to be so tantalizing that I even hang on her non-verbal commiunication. I could listen to her think all day!
